Thank you to EVERYONE who has engaged with The Dance Resource since launch in April 2026. This project would have no meaning without your contributions and engagement. Every social media interaction, in-person meeting, performance invitation, resource sharing, writing contribution, service offering, and every other gesture of good will – is what is making (and will continue to make) this project’s mission possible. Thank you for your trust in me and in this project. – Emily Robison, Founder + Operator

Major Activities
April 2026 to July 2026
- Launched on April 9, 2026. The Dance Resource launched with a temporary website, Instagram page, and email sign-up form (comment below if you were here for the temporary website!)
- Established a weekly dance event email. Free submissions ensure accessibility to all levels of contributors in the Triangle.
- Established The Dance Pulse. The only Triangle-based online publication that exclusively covers dance performances, news, interviews, and discussions about dance as a career (can’t wait to grow this to cover a greater variety of topics and events!)
- Established an online directory for dance organizations. The only online directory for local dance organizations. Individual pages with SEO-optimized formatting helps your name show up in more places online. This is just the beginning of creating a larger network of dancers, organizations, and support professionals.

Resources in Development
- Directory of dance space for rent. I know this has been on the back burner for awhile. I am working on gathering this info + distributing it in a way that makes your space rental search easy. Submit your dance organization — it’s free!
- Virtual meetings, dance networking, work-in-progress sharing, and other targeted in-person events. I am being intentional with creating meaningful events that foster professional development, collaborations, new ideas, and more!
- Individual contributor profiles. Dance organizations have their space on the website, but individuals deserve a space, too. I am working on a system and user interface to support this need.
Plans in Process
- Funding architectures. To ensure this project can sustain free resources and offer additional services at scale, The Dance Resource plans to pursue a variety of funding avenues. Possibilities include fiscal sponsorship, grants, earned revenue opportunities, and more. Funding is anticipated to support operations and the development of accessible dance-related programming.
- Organizational partnerships. I’m exploring ways for both The Dance Resource and local dance contributors to partner with businesses, artists, non-profits, and other programs as a means to establish collaborative, equitable networks.

I welcome your feedback during these initial development phases. While I do have a background in dance, I do not have your background, perspective, experiences, challenges, or needs – and that’s why I need your input! Contact me here.
