State Dance Company

The State Dance Company is one of NC State’s pre-professional academic dance companies, dedicated to creating and performing process-focused, research-based works in modern, contemporary, modern jazz, and dance theater. Open to students of all majors, the company offers the opportunity to rehearse weekly, perform throughout the academic year, and work alongside nationally recognized guest choreographers and artists.

Directed by Tara Mullins, with company classes led by American Dance Festival faculty member Tracey Durbin, State Dance Company provides a rigorous yet supportive environment where dancers refine their technical and artistic skills. Members also have opportunities to choreograph original works, collaborate with visiting artists, and gain valuable performance experience while earning academic credit.
