NC State’s Terrain Dance Project dazzled students, faculty, friends, and family with their site-specific dance performance of Themes of Gathering at The Corner on NC State’s campus. With live music and a wonderful use of the outdoor space, Themes of Gathering was a colorful display of distinct choreographic voices tied together by a celebration of the earth and its people. Four original choreographies were presented by Amy Love Beasley, NC State senior Annabelle Sharp, and guest artists Jill Guyton Nee and Anabelle Scarborough. Dancers moved boldly through the crowd, performing both inside and around the refurbished shipping containers the area is known for. While some pieces featured dancers jumping, rolling, turning, and balancing amongst the containers, other pieces showed dancers exploring the grassy space in between. At just over 1 hour, this free performance was a welcome display of artistic prowess that engaged and enlivened the audience. ///
